What is it? What implications does it have?
Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease is the most common cause of lameness in dogs. Is a disease characterized by the loss of balance between synthesis and degeneration of the various components of articular cartilage, and leading to erosion of cartilage and subchondral bone remodeling. Consequently, also an alteration of the synovial fluid and synovial membrane inflammation (synovitis). Therefore must be considered as a global disease osteoarthritis joint that affects cartilage, subchondral bone and synovial capsule.
Osteoarthritis is a problem of extensive involvement, being the most common cause of lameness in dogs and in some studies could affect 20% of dogs over one year.
Features and Benefits:
-
HYALURÓNIC ACIDImproved viscoelastic and lubricating properties of synovial fluid and helps prevent synovitis and reduce joint pain.
-
SUPPLEMENT GLUCOSAMINE AND CHONDROITIN SULPHATEStimulate metabolism and inhibiting cartilage degradation and calcification, maintaining its support function and absorption of compressive forces.
-
SUPPLEMENTATION WITH VITAMIN K2 (MK-7)Helps reduce the risk of bone loss, fracture risk and incidence of osteoarthritis by increasing bone mineralization and calcification inhibition of cartilage.
-
ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS ω-3 (EPA Y DHA)They help to reduce joint pain caused by inflammation and prevent cartilage degradation.
-
HIDROLIZED COLLAGENProviding amino acids necessary for the synthesis of collagen from articular cartilage matrix and helps to reduce degradation.
-
MODERATE CALORIE CONTENTHelps reduce body weight in obese dogs decreasing stress and pain caused by the mechanical effect on the joints.
