Duration of treatment:

For dissolution of struvite uroliths dietary treatment required 5 to 12 weeks. To avoid recurrence of urolithiasis , treatment should be continued for at least 6 months and followed by urinalysis . After the treatment , we recommend the use of Obesity Management and Satiety if the cat is overweight , or some of the food range for cats spayed neutered , if the animal has reached its ideal weight.

    Urinary S / O Moderate Calorie effectively dissolves struvite stones .

    Diluting urine decreases the urinary concentration of struvite and oxalate. The larger urinary volume also ensures regular bladder.

    Reduced caloric content of the food makes it possible to limit the weight gain in cats with tendency to be overweight .

    The glycosaminoglycans (GAG ) are naturally present in healthy bladder mucosa but decrease in idiopathic cystitis . This decrease , responsible for increased permeability facilitates access to germs , toxins and ions , causes inflammation and painful stimulation of sensory receptors .
